Your words reflected so perfectly what to me was the only honest way to witness everything happening in Gaza, Palestine, the genocide and starvation, barbaric cruelty, and Hamas as a protector. I found myself questioning Israel’s place in the world because they could perpetrate such evil acts upon others and be fine with and proud of the harm they’ve done. I owe you a debt of gratitude for putting so plainly what I needed to hear right now when I learned “The Lancet” determined 680,000 Palestinians have been murdered. 380,000 in the total were the littlest ones under five years old and 99,000 were children over five. 63,000 women and 138,000 men. You sent your article at a moment when I felt lost in this upside down world. Now, I feel that I’m not so alone and there are others who think like me. Quantitative blunders like Xuetong’s do make a difference. Fortunately, the UN is already ahead of him. That should make you suspicious. He’s either this embarrassingly ignorant or he’s helping the other side by inciting genocide, since he’s literally calling for the destruction of Hamas. If he gets defensive when corrected, he’s insincere. If he does correct his disinformation and apologizes (also symbolic), then he’s good, he’s on our side.
